This is an opportunity for a client-focused lawyer who wants meaningful courtroom exposure, a steady flow of retained work, and the ability to contribute right away in a practice that values sound judgment, responsiveness, and practical advocacy. Attorneys here are trusted to manage their matters with support from leadership and staff, creating a strong environment for long-term professional growth.What You Will Do
Guide clients through family law and misdemeanor traffic matters from intake through resolution. Appear in Virginia courts for hearings, negotiations, and procedural conferences. Prepare case strategies, pleadings, agreements, and client-ready communications. Partner with legal support staff to keep matters organized and moving forward.Build trust with clients through direct communication, sound judgment, and steady advocacy. Advise individuals on custody, support, divorce, and serious driving-related charges. Manage an active caseload with strong organization, professionalism, and follow-through. Contribute to a collaborative legal team focused on accountability, service, and results.What You Bring
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Active Virginia bar license in good standing. Several years of litigation experience, ideally in domestic relations, traffic defense, or related courtroom practice. Comfort handling client-facing legal work with professionalism and empathy. Ability to manage deadlines, changing priorities, and active matters with limited oversight.Strong writing skills and confidence drafting litigation and client documents. A practical, self-directed work style and the ability to collaborate effectively with support staff and leadership. Preferred Background
Experience with divorce, custody, visitation, and support matters. Exposure to DUI, reckless driving, or other misdemeanor defense work. Familiarity with fast-paced private practice environments. Experience balancing litigation responsibilities with high-touch client service.
