GENERAL SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager. The Environmental Services (EVS) Assistant provides administrative, clerical, and coordination support to the EVS leadership team. This role supports daily department operations by maintaining records, managing communication, coordinating services, and assisting with training and compliance activities. The EVS Assistant serves as a key point of contact for internal inquiries and helps ensure timely communication, accurate documentation, and operational continuity. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• GED/High School Diploma preferred
Licensure:
• None
Experience:
• Two years experience in healthcare Environmental Services preferred
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

1. Maintains EVS department records, files, and documentation in an organized and accurate manner.
2. Provides clerical support to EVS leadership, including data entry, report preparation, and document management.
3. Answers, screens, and routes incoming calls; responds to general inquiries and directs visitors appropriately.
4. Aids in receiving, tracking, and delegating STAT requests for terminal cleaning and housekeeping service calls.
5. Communicates service requests to EVS leadership or appropriate staff for timely follow-up.
6. Coordinates pest control services and maintains related documentation.
7. Maintains biohazardous waste documentation in accordance with regulatory and hospital requirements.
8. Assists with clerical support for department training, continuing education, and mandatory education tracking.
9. Assists with scheduling annual PTO for EVS housekeepers in coordination with EVS leadership.
10. Supports onboarding and mandatory training requirements by assisting with scheduling and documentation.
11. Assists with administrative and clerical aspects of employee training and mandatory requirements.
12. Supports EVS leadership in organizing training materials, attendance records, and competency documentation.
