Job Summary

This role supports complex clinical research and development activities focused on evaluating new procedures, devices, and technologies, particularly within blood quality and transfusion-related research. The position involves conducting laboratory experiments with a high degree of independence, performing advanced biological assays, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating closely with scientific and project teams. The role also contributes to assay development, validation, process improvement, and scientific reporting.

Key Responsibilities Participate in complex clinical research and development studies independently and as part of multidisciplinary research teams Perform blood quality analyses using laboratory instruments such as flow cytometers, hematology analyzers, aggregometers, plate readers, and gamma countersConduct laboratory experiments and biological assays with minimal supervision Perform radiolabeled in vivo recovery and survival experiments Maintain accurate, detailed records of experimental data, observations, and analyses Summarize and document results, conduct basic analyses, and prepare technical reportsContribute to manuscript preparation for publication in professional journals Support development, validation, and maintenance of laboratory SOPs and assay methods Maintain laboratory equipment and contribute to continuous process improvements Collaborate with scientists and project leaders regarding project progress, observations, and safety proceduresParticipate in ongoing technical and scientific training to develop expertise within the discipline Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Masters degree preferred Experience

Minimum of one year of experience in a research laboratory Experience in blood banking, hematology, or transfusion medicine preferred Flow cytometry experience highly desirable Background in laboratory, pre-clinical, clinical, or computational studies and scientific writing preferred Skills&Abilities

Strong proficiency in laboratory techniques with high attention to detail Ability to recognize discrepancies in experimental results Excellent documentation and organizational skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team Broad understanding of scientific principles, theories, and related disciplinesAdditional Information

Some travel may be required
