Data Center Engineer, Wyoming

Job Description

The Data Center Tech's primary role is to plan and implement infrastructure, software, and services through project work for moderate complexity level requests. This role also acts as the final escalation point for the day-to-day operational support for server, storage or network infrastructures and monitoring requests.

 

Essential Duties

Builds, tests, and deploys infrastructure, software and platforms meeting clients' needs and specifications.

Leads in planning and implementing changes to infrastructure with the goal of adding functionality and/or enhancing performance.

Creates customized plans for and performs storage and server data backup, data migration and disaster recovery operations.

Creates customized plans for and performs software and operating system upgrades.

Leads in creating policies for security settings or access permissions for groups and individuals on behalf of our clientele.

Provides final escalation point to the technical support (help desk) team by working directly with users to troubleshooting problems related to network or infrastructure performance.

Leads vendors, consultants, contractors, and IT personnel from client companies to plan projects, change control and strategic growth.

 

Required Qualifications

Experience working in an MSP environment or corporate environment with multiple sites.

5 or more years of experience performing system engineer functions (requirements management, validation & verification test plan management, change control, product lifecycle management, etc.)

Experience with installing Cisco Switches & Routers

Proven Expert knowledge of and experience working with Microsoft 365 and Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory or Azure AD, Microsoft Server, Linux Servers, VMware Servers, designing & implementing hardware and software-based BDR solutions.

Experience in Data Center environments

Experience with Optical Networking Equipment

SONET. DWDM, FTTP, etc.

Experience in trouble fiber cables/jumpers/circuits

Experience in fiber cleaning protocols
