Job Summary:

The Test Engineer I role is a key position with responsibility for defining and executing test procedures for the purpose of validating and improving product behavior and reliability. This role encompasses feature validation, bug fix verification, identifying, reporting and potentially triaging problems, and identifying opportunities for improvement. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in designing, developing, and executing test cases and procedures to validate product features and functionality 

Document and report bugs or defects in a clear, concise, and reproducible manner 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and ensure test coverage 

Validate new product features against design specifications and user requirements 

Conduct functional and regression testing under supervision 

Assist in triaging reported issues and contributing to root cause analysis 

Contribute suggestions for improving testing methodologies, tools, and workflows 

Maintain documentation of test plans, results, and known issues 

Utilize testing tools and software within team frameworks

Requirements

Core Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience 

Understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and processes 

Familiarity with defect tracking tools and test management software 

Ability to write clear and concise test cases and documentation 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

Effective communication and collaboration skills within a cross-functional team environment 

Eagerness to learn new technologies, tools, and processes related to software testing 

Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages is a plus 

Familiarity with automation tools or willingness to learn is a bonus 

Detail-oriented with a commitment to ensuring product quality 

Experience-Based Qualifications:

0-3 years of experience in a software testing or related role 

Focus on manual testing, defect reporting, and foundational automation tools knowledge (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) 

Strong organizational and time-management skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, JavaScript) 

Exposure to automation tools and frameworks 

Familiarity with Agile software development practices
