Litigation Attorney
Clean Harbors is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Attorney to manage a significant portfolio of auto accident and tort litigation. We are seeking candidates with experience that aligns with the following key responsibilities: (a) engaging with and overseeing outside counsel, (b) serving as an intermediary between the business and outside counsel, (c) coordinating claims management with our internal risk management team and third-party insurers, (d) establishing litigation budgets and financial reserves, and (e) providing data-driven insights to business leaders to actively mitigate future litigation risk and claim exposure.Why work for Clean Harbors? Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times. Develop and manage high-level strategies for litigation and litigation avoidance. Oversee insurance claim administration. Oversee, advise, mentor and develop a team of junior attorneys and/or claims administrators.Collaborate with and manage outside litigation counsel, litigation service providers and insurers. Travel to, attend and serve as the Company's representative in hearings, depositions, arbitrations and mediations as necessary. Use technology and data to drive resource optimization and efficiencies.Work cross-functionally with the Finance and Risk Management Departments to set and manage financial reserves and determine appropriate insurance coverages. Interact with and provide litigation updates to the Company's executive staff. Provide litigation perspective and input to the General Counsel in preparation for board meetings, executive briefings, SEC filings and other strategic initiatives.Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school and a member in good standing of a state bar. Minimum of two to three years of relevant litigation experience. Prior in-house experience is preferred but not required. Key Attributes Demonstrates expressive leadership.
