Our Social Work Department provides LCSW Clinical Supervision to those pursuing their LCSW, opportunity to provide graduate level Social Work field supervision requiring a field placement, and onsite CEU opportunities.
Essential Job Functions
Attends and participates in staff meetings and other meetings as requested
Participates in data collection process for social work
Represents Social Work in professional and community organizations as appropriate. Provides community outreach through lectures, volunteering expertise to other agencies as needed, etc.
Serves on committees as assigned
Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with Hospital policies and procedures
Complies with standards and regulations of licensure, regulatory and accrediting agencies
Complies with the legal requirements as a mandated reporter to appropriate governmental agencies, such as DCFS
Assesses own need for professional growth and development and seeks appropriate resources to meet needs
Documents plan of care in the medical chart in a timely manner
Meets with patient and family and facilitates referrals to extended care facilities, utilizing Extended Care Information Network. Transfers to other facilities are made in a timely way to ensure an appropriate length of stay
Develops and leads or co-leads support and/or psycho educational groups for designated patient/family populations as appropriate
Arranges for transportation from the hospital to home and assists the patient in organizing transportation to clinic visits to insure the continuity of care
Assists the patient in accessing medication through governmental and pharmaceutical programs as well as through hospital charitable funds
Participates regularly in group or in individual supervision in order to promote professional development
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Work from a School of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
Self-motivated, organized and comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Possess current state of Illinois Social Work License (LSW) or must be eligible for licensure
Previous clinical social work experience in a health care setting of at least one year
Knowledge of the principles of growth and development
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Previous neurology outpatient experience

Compensation & Benefits Overview
UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
