Role Overview:
The Research Associate III will provide analytical and technical support for nitrosamines and impurities analysis. This hands-on, laboratory-based role involves daily on-site work at the Round Lake facility, supporting method development, chemical analysis, and regulatory compliance within a cross-functional team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform chemical analyses for nitrosamines and impurities using LC/MS/MS, wet chemistry, and sample preparation techniques.
Conduct solid-phase extraction (SPE) and liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) for nitrosamines studies.
Plan, execute, and troubleshoot experiments related to nitrosamines and extractables & leachables (E&L) analysis.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mass spectrometry instrumentation.
Lead method development and optimization using LC/MS/MS.
Analyze, interpret, and report scientific data with sound experimental documentation.
Contribute to and author technical reports, summaries, protocols, and SOPs.
Document lab activities using electronic laboratory notebooks in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Support lab safety, compliance, and cleanliness following EHS&S and internal quality guidelines.
Communicate project status, findings, and technical information effectively across teams.
Education:
PhD (0–3 years’ experience), or master’s degree (3–5 years), or Bachelor’s degree (5–7 years) in Chemistry or related field (Analytical/Organic Chemistry preferred)
Must Have:
Extensive hands-on experience with LC/MS/MS (HPLC/UHPLC tandem MS with APCI or ESI)
Proficiency with Mass Hunter software preferred
Strong skills in wet chemistry and instrumental techniques
Experience with SPE and LLE sample prep methods
Nice to Have:

Effective team collaboration and inclusive attitude
Ability to manage time and deliverables efficiently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
