Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support the development and integration of a new Agriculture Field Computer within the next-generation precision farming vehicle architecture. This role involves hands-on development for Yocto-based Linux platforms, with a focus on embedded system integration and collaboration across global teams following SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and evaluate embedded software applications using C++ for Linux platforms.

Lead software development efforts for Yocto-based embedded systems, ensuring maintainability and integration with hardware components.

Support system-level integration activities across global teams and stakeholders.

Develop and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.

Interface with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

Participate in customer support activities, troubleshooting and resolving software-related problems in fielded systems.

Stay current with developments in embedded systems, Linux kernel enhancements, and automotive protocols.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.

Minimum 5 years of embedded software engineering experience.

Proficient in modern C++ (including design patterns, standard library, CMake, templates).

Strong experience with Linux kernel development and POSIX APIs.

Proven expertise in the Yocto Project and Bitbake for building custom embedded Linux distributions.

Experience in vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, J1939, ISO-11783, and ISO-14229.

Preferred Experience:

Background in precision agriculture, off-highway, or automotive systems.

Experience with Scaled Agile (SAFe) development environments.

Familiarity with hardware/software co-design and cross-functional product development.
