Shriners Children’s Chicago offers specialized care for a wide range of pediatric orthopedic, bone and joint conditions, including rare diseases and syndromes. Job Overview:
Schedule: Part-Time - 0.4 FTE

Shift: Weekends 9:00am-6:00pm

 

 

Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for a Part-Time Cook to join our cafeteria team. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives.  Our top healthcare professionals excel in their practices and provide compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most.  Hours:  This is a Part-Time position of approximately 16 hours per week, with more hours available based on departmental needs. 

 

The pay range for this position is $21.24 /hour - $26.56/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities:
The position of cook; with dishwashing responsibilities provides for the preparation and distribution of food to patients, visitors and staff of Shriners Hospitals.

 

 

Practices Serve Safe Sanitation

Sanitation according to the guidelines of Serve Safe is practiced at all times.

Prepares Catering Functions and consistently maintains quality

Catering functions are prepared on time and to what the customer has ordered

Prepares patient meals in accordance with specific diets and is prepared at meal time

Patient meals are made according to their diet and are ready on time for tray line.

Ensures proper temp of all food served in accordance with state and federal guidelines

The temp of our food is at acceptable level according to or policy and procedure manual

The temp of our food is at acceptable level according to or policy and procedure manual

Tally sheets are followed so that extra food is not left over after tray line.

Prepare cafeteria meals according to specific menu

Cafeteria males are done on time. There is sufficient backup so that the café does not run out of food.

Qualifications:
Required:

High School Diploma / GED

2 Years Institutional Cooking.

ServSafe Food Safety Certificate

Preferred:

Hospital cooking experience
