Part Time Box Office Clerk, Elgin

Box Office Clerk
Box Office Clerk for The Hemmens Cultural Center, a City-owned and operated facility.
Primary responsibilities include:
Serving as Box Office Clerk and receptionist
Selling tickets to events using computerized ticketing system
Preparing and maintaining files and records
Handling cash, check and credit card transactions
Answering box office and general facility phones
Answering patron's questions regarding upcoming events including but not limited to: tickets, performance times and details, directions to theatre, local restaurants, etc.
Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will be personable with strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic accounting skills
Service oriented and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and electronic mail systems is required.
Previous experience in the box office of a comparable live entertainment venue is preferred.
Previous experience with Seat Advisor Box Office, TicketSearch and/or Theatre Manager software a plus.
High school diploma or GED (copy must be provided with application) is required.
Applicants must pass a background investigation, criminal history record check and drug test.
Hours: Varied, Monday through Friday plus some evenings and weekends; 19 to 25 hours per week
