Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Job Description:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

• Work with business partners, application developers, architects, and other groups to communicate technical issues.

• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively and efficiently solve problems.

• Working knowledge of web application architecture & relevant back-end systems, infrastructure, security, and compliance.

• Evaluate and assess system performance for opportunities to make improvements and/or increase capacity where appropriate.

• Engage in all phases of the SDLC to verify applications meet/exceed the base standards of performance.

• Responsible for overseeing and implementing application performance monitoring.

• Reinforce department standards and processes in the areas of development, architecture, coding standards, security, change, and configuration management.

• Maintain architecture documentation for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs.

• Assist with estimating feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility of technologies with a new or existing system.

• Assist with software installation of new solutions and upgrades.

• Administration of APM tools required for deep-transaction monitoring of applications.

• Support the release management process for software and act as a Technical Lead on software deployments to Production.



EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or two-year technical degree + relevant experience.



EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years Object-Oriented Programming Language Experience (Java or .NET)

• Working knowledge of the Following Technologies:

o Object Oriented Design Patterns

o Services Based Development (SOAP, Rest, RMI)

• Application Server Development (JBOSS preferred)

• Web User Interface Development (HTML, JavaScript, JSP, ASP)

• Application Development Utilizing an Object-oriented Framework (Spring, Apache)

• APM - dynaTrace or equivalent system

• Microservices/Containers a plus

• Windows Administration a plus

• Strong written and oral communication skills
