Lifeguard Position
Under supervision, ensures pool patron safety through the provision of effective lifeguarding services in accordance with all City policies, procedures and safety regulations. Assists with the operation of the spray ground. Reports to the Recreation Coordinator. Performs professional lifeguarding duties to ensure the safety of all pool patrons. Performs rescue procedures and administers CPR and First Aid as necessary.Participates in the maintenance of the aquatic facilities and surrounding areas. Processes program registration; accepts, receipts and records program fees and other revenues. Assists in planning, coordinating and presenting special events, including swim meets, City-wide events, etc. Ensures that all City policies, procedures and safety regulations are followed at all times.Receives and responds to public inquiries, complaints and requests for assistance. Compiles data for and prepares required records and reports. Performs routine office work as required, including but not limited to answering the telephone, preparing reports and records, etc. Performs related duties as required.Requires basic swimming skills and rescue techniques. Must be at least 16 years of age. Requires certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for Lifeguards.
