Description
Key Initiatives:

Interface with customers, troubleshoot equipment problems, perform testing and measurements in-shop and at customer locations, generate detailed engineering reports.

Provide technical and risk management guidance to Sales, Quality Assurance, Operations and other functions.

Engineering and Technology - apply Engineering, science, and technology to innovate for the industry. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design, production and repair of rotating electrical machines.

Investigate equipment failures and perform RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis)

Drafting, laying out, and specifying technical devices, parts, and equipment, providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to communicate how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.

Support Field Service team with vibration measurement, machine alignment and other technical needs

Continuous improvement of processes, procedures, documentation, tooling and equipment.

Support Nuclear team with technical evaluations and commercial grade dedication planning

Educate and train customers, vendors and IPS technicians on motor/generator operating theory and repair processes

Actively participate in Ultimate Customer Experience tiered meeting process.

Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards including but not limited to API, IEEE, IEC, UL, NEMA, MSHA, CSA, and customers specifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Passion for critical thinking and creatively solving problems

Strong hands-on experience in fabrication, machining, manufacturing, machine repair or similar

Computer Skills: CAD (SolidWorks) including finite element analysis

Preferred requirements:

Demonstrated success working with cross functional teams across multiple disciplines

Knowledge and skills in vibration analysis for rotating equipment, including casing vibration, shaft displacement, modal analysis, operating deflection shapes, rotor dynamics, resonance, etc.

Experience with Quality Management Systems including document control, non-conformance control, Corrective Action Reporting, etc.
