The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) will support our orthopedic surgeons and physician assistants (PAs) in the physician clinic setting, provide outreach services to the local high school and ski and snowboard teams, and provide strength and conditioning return to activity sessions for our post-operative patients. The duties of the Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) may also include, but are not limited to, prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, evaluation and immediate care of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries, health care administration, and professional development and responsibility as specified in the Domains of the NATA Certified Athletic Trainer. The Certified Athletic Trainer serves as a liaison between physicians, coaches, athletes and parents. The Certified Athletic Trainer ensures that players participate only when physically able and that any physician instructions are understood and followed. The Certified Athletic Trainer will coordinate with the athletic director to ensure that the athletic training room and all required events are covered.What You'll Do: Responsible for maintaining clinic flow between different areas of the clinic. Liaison between patient, surgeon, and office team. Greet and room patients, take vitals and patient history. Document and share information with physician and/or PA. Discuss patient's initial evaluation and plan of care with physician and/or PA.Carry out treatments and recommendations by the physician or PA. Responsible for patient setup and education of in office procedures. Prepares for and assists with in-office procedures. Liaison with surgery schedulers, authorization team, physical therapy, and other hospital departments to ensure a coordinated multidisciplinary approach to patient care.Fabricate, adjust and remove orthopedic devices. Apply mobilization and immobilization devices. Assist with the application of skin, skeletal and manual traction. Provide coverage for High School home games as agreed upon by the supervisor and agreement with the school. Develop/follow a comprehensive emergency action plan specific to each of the school's facilities and any facilities utilized by the school's athletics department.Conduct concussion education and training for coaching staff. Establish a working relationship with a designated team physician and physicians within the community. Provide consultation on strength and conditioning for participating athletes. Who You Are: Excellent communicator Flexible Critical thinkerWilling to learn Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and maintain the standards established by the National Athletic Trainers' Association's (NATA) role delineation study.American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required. At least one year full-time work experience in either a hospital, clinic or office setting, working directly in the treatment of the orthopedic patient(s) preferred. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) preferred.Completion of Orthopedic Technician program or one year experience in related field preferred. AT Residency or fellowship training preferred. Skilled in taping and fitting durable medical equipment, apply wound dressings, suture removal, and casting/splinting. Job Information: Full-time, day shifts at our Mammoth and Bishop locations.Starting wage $35.60 to $43.15 based on qualifications.
