RHC-NIA Medical Assistant II, Bishop

JOB SUMMARY

:

The Medical Assistant (MA) functions under the Medical Direction of the Clinic Physicians and their designees, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistants, to carry out direct patient service in the NIHD Clinics.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS

: Directly responsible to the RHC/NIA Managers or their designee. The MA is directly supervised by the Clinic Physician or their designee (NP or PA) for clinical practice Works closely with District leadership and departments as well as internal and external customers.

OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS:

Works in the outpatient clinic setting. May be exposed to blood, body fluids, or tissues as well as patients in varying stages of infectious states.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

Medical Assistant training course completion

Education:

High School Diploma or GED certificate

Certification:

BLS upon hire

Preferred

Experience:

1 + year experience in medical field or clinical back office setting

Certification:

California Certified Medical Assistant certification or similar National certification

10-hour shifts

Schedule may vary some Saturdays required Full time
