Job Description Job Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to take a lead role in the daily accounting operations for a steel manufacturing organization in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the details, managing core accounting activities directly, and ensuring accurate financial records across multiple entities.

Responsibilities:
• Direct end-to-end accounting activities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and completed on schedule.
• Oversee accounts receivable functions, including tracking outstanding balances and driving timely payment collection.
• Manage accounts payable processing and maintain the integrity of general ledger records.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities to support accurate financial reporting.
• Coordinate collection efforts with customers and vendors, including follow-up on past-due balances extending to roughly 90 days.
• Work closely with sales team members to resolve billing concerns, payment issues, and account discrepancies.
• Support accounting operations for multiple legal entities while maintaining consistent financial controls and documentation.
• Use QuickBooks and integrated transaction systems to process accounting activity and assist with system-related process updates as needed.
• Monitor daily accounting workflows, identify issues proactively, and apply sound judgment to resolve them efficiently.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior-level accounting role with strong ownership of day-to-day financial operations.
• Solid background in month-end close, general ledger management, and preparation of journal entries.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation activities.
• Hands-on experience managing both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced operational setting.
• Experience supporting accounting processes across multiple business entities is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and related transaction processing systems.
• Strong organizational skills with a consistent approach to documentation, follow-through, and problem-solving.
