Description
As a part of the Human Resources Payroll Team and under general supervision of the Payroll Manager the payroll analyst works closely with HR, finance and other departments to provide precise payroll information and exceptional service to employees. This role encompasses a comprehensive understanding of payroll systems, compliance with regulatory requirements and the ability to troubleshoot complex payroll issues. The payroll analyst works collaboratively across departments to enhance payroll processes and maintain high standards of service to our business partners and employees.
The role involves analyzing and auditing payroll data, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and supporting continuous improvements in payroll processing.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day Payroll functions for organizations of 5000+ employees over 32 associations across 32 FEINs ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and internal controls.
Process data entry for multi-state payroll under strict deadlines while ensuring all entries and system outputs follow all state and federal laws.
Work with HR team to aggregate employee data relating to new hires, terminations, compensation & other miscellaneous payments during each pay period to accurately process payroll for that period.
Auditing or validating the pay records and as an Oracle payroll subject expert make needed corrections to producing accurate and timely payments and ensuring that each Employee's "Gross to Net pay results is correct.
Review and reconcile payroll inputs from various internal sources, to ensure accurate payroll processing for multiple payrolls.
Prepares and reconciles monthly reports for United Way and Garnishment payments including researching and adjusting discrepancies.
Assist employees with online changes to taxes, direct deposit, and timesheets in Oracle, and other payroll related pay calculations.
Reviews and balance monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports including W-2 and 941 forms processed by the tax provider.
Prepares quarterly worksite reporting and the annual US Census Report.
Stays current on Federal, state and local laws influencing payroll matters.
Resolve complex payroll issues and discrepancies, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution.
Preparing data and calculations for processing payroll adjustments.
Assist with balance multi-company payroll for quarterly and annual reporting.
Ability to anticipate problems and provide solutions or develop contingencies.
Stay up to date with U.S. payroll regulations, payroll tax laws, and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations and timely payroll tax setup and filings.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with external payroll and tax vendors and ensure the smooth operation of all payroll systems (currently ADP).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education
Bachelor's in accounting / Business degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Prior Work Experience
Minimum of 5+ years processing multi-state payroll and comprehensive understanding of payroll systems, compliance and data analysis.
Certificates
Preferred FPC or CPP
Other Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll rules and regulations.
Strong knowledge of FLSA hours and wage regulations.
Strong organization time management skills to manage multiple, diverse and potentially conflicting priorities.
