Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain software scripts, tools, monitoring, and automation to increase efficiency and consistency across lab infrastructure and software solutions (applications, licensing, etc.)
- Install and maintain enterprise storage solutions.
- Assist in managing the lab under the current Lab Administrator Set up cameras and maintain equipment Perform basic networking work Clean up and maintain inventory of equipment
- Collaborate with IT and Network Administrators to maintain network security. Support lab IT infrastructure by responding to system issues/requests and ensuring timely, professional resolution within SLA guidelines.
- Recommend improvements to testing procedures, equipment usage, and identification of new equipment needs. Communicate and deploy changes to lab infrastructure following the standard change management process and scheduled maintenance windows.
- Coordinate lab changes and maintenance activities with leadership and business stakeholders.
- Create and maintain standard lab policies, procedures, and user guides for the lab environment.
- Certificate or College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
- 1+ years of IT helpdesk/support experience.
- Experience with hardware systems, including feasibility, development, validation, and implementation of hardware solutions, as well as upgrades and maintenance.
- Basic networking experience configuring computer networking on both Windows and Unix-based operating systems. Strong operating systems knowledge, including installing, upgrading, and patching.
- Ability to script and automate operating system configuration and related computer tasks.
- Experience with computer security and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated passion for efficiency and quality.
- Ability to work with agility in fast-changing development and testing environments.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Empathy and the ability to understand and represent varied perspectives.
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Strong and efficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-driven, operates with an extreme sense of urgency, and is passionate about delivering quality
- Entry-level background IT certification or Computer Science degree
- Software Proficiency Slack Email systems

- Experience using Juniper switches:
- Onsite office in Vancouver; work primarily in lab and server rooms
