Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to support prototype and production machining within our aerospace facility. This role is responsible for developing CNC programs, creating setup sheets, and ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining, proficiency in MasterCAM, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-quality environment.Key Responsibilities

Interpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements, including tap sizes, helicoils, threads, and press-fit features.

Collaborate with operators, engineers, and project managers to define project scope, scheduling, and job details.

Develop methods, machining sequences, tooling requirements, feeds, and speeds for manufacturing precision aerospace components.

Create and modify 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC programs using MasterCAM from both blueprints and 3D solid models.

Identify and obtain proper tooling; prepare tool lists for each job.

Work closely with engineering staff to finalize programs and verify accuracy through simulations (VeriCut or similar).

Ensure first-article and in-process inspections meet dimensional and visual requirements.

Support production by addressing issues, troubleshooting processes, and optimizing machining operations.

Maintain adherence to quality and production standards in line with aerospace industry requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7+ years of CNC programming experience with lathes, multi-axis horizontal and vertical mills.

Strong proficiency in MasterCAM programming within an aerospace machine shop environment.

Extensive experience creating precision programs for tight-tolerance 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining.

Strong knowledge of GD&T with the ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings and datum structures.

Familiarity with machining aluminum and exotic alloys.

Proven ability to determine tooling, cutting/grinding methods, and appropriate speeds/feeds.

Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, high-quality production environment.

Self-motivated with the ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
