Job Description:

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.

Education:

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing - Required

Experience:

6 Months Nursing - Acute Care - Required

2000 hours Nursing - Cardiac Catheterization - Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Core Requirement

2000 hours Cath Lab Doing no Fewer than 30 case per Month and Full Spectrum of Interventional Procedures - Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Core Requirement

4000 hours Nursing - Critical Care - Non-Core Requirement

RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required

BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required

ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association - Core Requirement, but Preferred when not providing patient care assignments / tasks

ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association - Non-Core Requirement, but Preferred when not providing patient care assignments / tasks

Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11/15/2018) - Required

Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test – Internal Candidates Must Pass Prior to Applying for Position (must be proctored in Human Resources) – Required

Skills:

For Cardiac Cath Lab, Invasive Cardiology, Special Procedures, and Cardiac Rhythm Center Positions-
 

Core:
• Minimum 2000 hours experience as an RN working in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Angiography, Interventional Radiology, and/ or Electrophysiology lab participating in no fewer than 30 procedures per month, doing a full spectrum of interventional procedures within the past 2 years.
• Demonstrates competency in caring for patients undergoing specialized treatments including, but not limited to, the EKOS system, intra-aortic balloon counter pulsation therapy, Impella therapy, Cardiac Device implants, complex electrophysiology studies, and/or complex ablation procedures.
• Meets competency standards for scrubbing, circulating or recording in interventional cardiology, radiology, electrophysiology, and/or cardiac device implant procedures.
• Minimum 4000 hours experience working in critical care.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Must have passed approved pre-employment cardiac rhythm exam.
• Must be able to effectively manage the entire spectrum of care for patients receiving moderate sedation.
• Must be able to start difficult IVs.
• Demonstrates competency in the application or use of cardiac pharmacology, vasoactive therapy, titration, and regulation of multiple vasoactive therapy, temporary, permanent and transcutaneous pacing and emergency interventions including defibrillation.
• Must meet competency standards for scrubbing, circulating or recording on all interventional cardiology, radiology, electrophysiology, and/or cardiac device implant procedures within 12 months of hire.

Work Shift:

10.0 - 06:30 - 17:00 No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$77.04 - $104.97Hourly

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
