Senior Accountant (Contract 6 Months)
We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a 6-month contract opportunity with a growing organization in North Houston, TX.
This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong reconciliation expertise, experience in multi-entity environments, and a background in cost accounting within manufacturing.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and supporting process improvements across the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Support month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities (7 total)
Manage and analyze inventory and cost accounting (standard costing environment)
Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and variance analyses
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, supply chain, FP&A) to ensure accurate financial data
Assist with system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvements
Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
Utilize NetSuite for daily accounting operations and reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior-level responsibilities
Strong experience with account reconciliations (highly preferred)
Experience working in a multi-entity environment
Background in manufacturing and cost accounting, including inventory and standard costing
Proficiency in NetSuite required
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
