Controller / Finance Director, Newport Beach

Korn Ferry is partnering with our client based in Newport Beach in their search for an experienced Controller / Finance Director.

Our client is a Newport Beach–based UHNW family office overseeing a diversified portfolio across real estate, hospitality, and multi-family investments.
Position Summary:
The Controller / Finance Director will oversee all finance, accounting, and tax coordination for the principal's multi-entity portfolio.
This individual will act as a trusted partner, ensuring accuracy, oversight, and full visibility into all financial activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations across multiple entities and investments
Review and verify all expenses, cash flow, and financial activity
Partner directly with the principal on financial oversight and reporting
Coordinate with external tax advisors, accountants, and property management firms
Consolidate financial reporting across real estate and investment holdings
Monitor capex spend, budgets, and large transactions (real estate, assets, etc.)
Maintain strong controls and ensure accuracy across all financial processes
Qualifications:
CPA required (non-negotiable)
10+ years of accounting/finance experience (family office, real estate, or similar preferred)
Strong understanding of multi-entity structures, tax coordination, and cash management
High integrity, detail-oriented, and hands-on
Must be able to work onsite in Newport Beach
Onsite role based in Newport Beach.
Salary Range:
$170k–$220k + bonus
