About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established public accounting firm serving nonprofit organizations throughout the region, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership and clients in a collaborative, relationship-driven environment focused primarily on small to mid-sized nonprofit organizations.
The ideal candidate will have prior nonprofit accounting experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage client relationships while balancing multiple engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform audit planning and fieldwork for nonprofit clients
Prepare financial statements and related supporting documentation
Prepare and review Form 990 filings
Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and service
Collaborate with partners and internal team members to ensure engagement deadlines are met
Assist clients with accounting and reporting needs throughout engagements
Participate in audit engagements involving nonprofit organizations of varying sizes
Support additional accounting and client projects as needed
Qualifications
3–5+ years of public accounting experience required
Prior nonprofit/not-for-profit accounting experience strongly preferred
Experience with audit planning, fieldwork, and financial statement preparation
Familiarity with Form 990 preparation required
Single audit experience is a plus
CPA designation or CPA-track preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively both internally and with clients
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
