Job Summary:
The Director, Chart Research is primarily responsible for ensuring all client deficiencies are reviewed timely by directly overseeing the Chart Research Managers for ED and HM

Essential Functions and Tasks:
Monitors employee performance for both volume and quality, coaches employees to ensure consistent growth, and manages direct reports PTO requests, timecards, and personnel records

Develops and maintains Quality Assurance metrics, results, and expectations for the Chart Research team

Collaborates with the Intake and Front End Projects team on new and existing clients for process improvements

Signs off on Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring we are following best practices

Approves Partner Portal access for Clients

Ensures close, proactive, and ongoing communication with other departments within Ventra

Presents held chart and exception updates to Ventra Leadership and Client Success teams

Manages department work assignments and timeliness

Works closely with the Horizon team on production escalations and issues

Sets priority for the Chart Research tickets

Creates system enhancements tickets with requirements for the Development team

Proactively monitors client volumes and shifts assignments as needed to handle backlog processing

Meets with clients as needed

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED

At least two (3) years of experience in handing patient health information and/or medical records preferred

At least one (3) year of supervisory/management/leadership experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of department roles and responsibilities

Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information

Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)

Strong supervisory/management skills

Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies

Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner

Ability to remain flexible and work within a collaborative and fast paced environment

Basic use of computer, telephone, internet, copier, fax, and scanner

Basic touch 10 key skills

Basic Math skills   

Understand and comply with company policies and procedures

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong time management and organizational skills

Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel (pivot tables), and database software skills
