Job Summary:
The Manager, Chart Research is primarily responsible for the daily operations as well as future strategy of the Chart Research Department.
Essential Functions and Tasks:
Manages Chart Research Department operations: recruits, selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines staff. Plans, monitors, appraises, and reviews staff job contributions
Implements cross functional training and succession planning as allowable
Communicates with other Leadership/Management across departments
Develops and implements process improvements
Presents high level information regarding held charts to Executive Team
Manages departments work assignments and timeliness
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
At least two (2) years of experience in handing patient health information and/or medical records preferred
At least one (1) year of supervisory/management/leadership experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of department roles and responsibilities
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)
Strong supervisory/management skills
Strong management level oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong presentation development and delivery skills
Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills
Strong critical thinking skills
Strong decision-making skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong time management skills
Strong ability to take initiative and effectively troubleshoot while focusing on innovative solutions
Strong ability to exercise sound judgment and handle highly sensitive and confidential information appropriately
