Steel Fabrication Team
Alpha Iron is hiring a motivated
Steel Estimator
to support structural steel fabrication and erection projects.
This role is ideal for someone with strong estimating experience, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced construction environment.
We are looking for candidates with experience in
steel fabrication, construction estimating, material take-offs, vendor pricing, and project coordination
.
Key Responsibilities
Review bid documents, RFIs, and project drawings
Understand steel fabrication and erection scope
Prepare detailed material take-offs
Build accurate cost estimates and proposals
Obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors
Track current steel and material pricing
Submit itemized bids with schedules
Maintain bid logs and customer follow-up
Coordinate project handoff after award
Support Project Managers and Production teams
Required Skills & Experience
2+ years in
Steel Fabrication
or
Steel Erection
Experience with
Construction Estimating
Ability to read structural and fabrication drawings
Strong knowledge of
material take-offs
Proficient with
Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong communication and organization skills
Ability to prioritize deadlines and manage multiple bids
High School Diploma or GED required
