Repairs Inspector
KADANT BLACK CLAWSON LLC is an established leader in equipment and systems for the international pulp and paper process industries. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is located in Lebanon, OH, where we design and manufacture our products for customers across the globe. We currently seek to fill the role of Repairs Inspector to disassemble, clean, and inspect RMA repair components, subassemblies, and assemblies, all while advancing KBC's mission of being a forward-thinking, collaborative, and ethical business.Responsibilities: Inspects all component parts, noting required dimensions on inspection prints or other documentation provided. Disassembles and cleans/power washes parts, assemblies, and subassemblies as needed for inspection. Maintains organized storage of RMA components. Performs equipment maintenance and housekeeping duties.Aligns components and fastens them together. Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement. Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems. Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears. Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.Plans assembly procedures and methods to assure efficient and timely progress. Inspects parts for proper machining finish and dimensions; checks and tests subassemblies and units. May be required to repair parts as needed. Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read precision measuring instruments. Demonstrates KBC values of personal accountability, discipline, trust, and proactive action. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.This position requires the knowledge of standard tools, materials methods, and practices required in assembling product. Also required is the ability to read and interpret blueprints, read precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, calipers, tape measures, etc.), and operate a forklift and overhead crane.Must be able to read and write simple correspondence. Should have the ability to maintain machinery, equipment, and tools used in assembly. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally; anything over 50 pounds requires two people, or the use of a lifting device.
