Continuous Essential Functions

Water Production Operator I: Collects and performs Water Quality Tests Performs calculations for chemical additions; fills and adjusts chemical feeder Performs custodial duties, such as sweep, mop, etc. Troubleshoots equipment and process control problems Assists Operator with maintaining SCADA to ensure proper water levels and system pressuresAssists Operator with minor maintenance of feed pumps, instrumentation, etc. Drains sludge and backwashes filters Water Production Operator II: Gathers and performs Water Quality Tests Maintains proper water levels in storage tanks Troubleshoots equipment and process control problems Performs minor maintenancePrepares chemical solutions and calibrates process instruments Performs calculations for chemical additions Records hourly meter readings and backwashes filters Fills and adjusts chemical feeders Performs jar tests Maintains process control balance to maintain quality and regulatory complianceWater Production Operator III: Collect and perform Water Quality Tests. Maintains proper water levels in storage tanks. Troubleshoots equipment and process control problems. Performs maintenance. Prepares chemical solutions and calibrates process instruments. Records meter readings fill and adjusts chemical feeders.Performs jar tests and sets chemical dosages. Backwash filters and drains sludge valves. Maintains process control balance to maintain quality and regulatory compliance. Assist in the review and updating of the Standard Operating Procedure Manual annually. Additional Duties

Water Production Operator I: High School diploma or GED equivalent Water Production Operator II: High School diploma or GED equivalent Grade "C" Surface Water Certification issued from TNRCC or TCEQ Two years' experience working as an operator in a Water Treatment Plant Water Production Operator III:High School diploma or GED equivalent Grade "B" Surface Water Certification issued from TNRCC or TCEQ Four years' experience working as an operator in a 15 MGD or greater Water Treatment Plant Core Competencies

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customers Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance Ability to work rotating shifts Conditions of Employment

Water Production Operator I: Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license within 30 days of hire per state law) Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification checkMust pass a physical examination TCEQ Grade "D" Water License obtained within six months of employment TCEQ Grade "C" Water License obtained within three years of employment Water Production Operator II: Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license within 30 days of hire per state law)Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check Must pass a physical examination Obtain Grade "B" Surface Water Certification within 3 years of employment as Operator II Water Production Operator III: Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license within 30 days of hire per state law)Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check Must pass a physical examination Must be able to work overtime when requested and work rotating shifts Must be able to work in confined spaces and capable of lifting up to 80 pounds.Grade "B" Surface Water Certification issued from TNRCC or TCEQ Preferences
