Description
Our Client, an Utility and Energy Generation and Distribution company, is looking for a Claims Analyst for their Urbandale, IA location.
Responsibilities:
This position processes, tracks and maintains individual delivery services damage claim work orders to support accurate and efficient confirmation and billing of the responsible party and resolution of damage claim billing disputes, and responds to basic inquiries from external parties regarding damage claim activity.
Typical Duties include Monitor claims database to ensure that supporting documentation is received from the field for each claim; review supporting documentation for completeness and compare to record in the claims database for accuracy; post additional relevant information to the claims database for each claim; scan and file supporting documentation; forward completed claims for review; complete billing tasks and submit claims records for billing. (60%)
Monitor general claims email and voice mail lines; respond to routine requests and forward other requests to the appropriate party; provide claims billing supporting data to responsible party insurance carriers upon request; where applicable, obtain police department reports; issue standard letters to responsible parties where charges are being reversed. (35%)
Work with all business partners to ensure timely completion of projects.

Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques.
Evaluate present practices and implement processes, concepts, training and tools to prevent, detect and correct human errors that may adversely impact the safe, reliable operation of the electric transmission and distribution system.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.
Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.
The Claims Analyst position requires one year of related work experience.
Demonstrate familiarity with delivery functions and objectives, including distribution construction and repair methods and supporting work management tracking and costing systems.
Demonstrate familiarity with laws and industry regulations and practices relating to distribution facilities placement and liability for damage to these facilities.
Effective oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and customer relationship skills.
Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Demonstrate ability to meet goals and produce desired results.
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft computer applications including Word, Excel and Access.
