divh2Security Officer/h2pAmaze, Inspire, Unite/ppUnder general supervision, protects the organizations physical assets by maintaining and safeguarding the physical perimeter, exterior, and interior perimeters of the facility by foot, vehicle or bike patrol.
This position is responsible for responding and overseeing emergency situations and coordinating with external resources.
Assist the supervisor in the development, implementation and maintenance of security.
/ph3Key Responsibilities:/h3ulliProvide security protection for all organizational facilities, proprietary material and personnel within the areas of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access, theft or intentional destruction.
/liliMonitor flow of personnel entering and exiting the facility.
Audit personnel/visitor authorization and control activities to verify personal and organization ID.
/liliInsure the protection of colleagues, guests and patrons in and around Ilitch companies venues to include potential situations and physical confrontations.
/liliMaintain and update visitor management system, inspect commercial deliveries and outside contractors entering and exiting the facility.
/liliVisually inspect common areas to prevent any hazards, ensure proper safety procedures are followed and provide documentation of security, fire and safety deficiencies.
/liliEscort guests and organization personnel throughout the facility as directed.
/liliOversee handling of emergency situations, including employee injuries.
/liliRespond to incidents, investigates, interviews and gathers pertinent/factual information to complete incident reports.
/liliAssist in the development and implementation of new and improved security programs.
/liliMaintain an in-depth knowledge of all security orders, written and oral, pertaining to assigned duties.
/liliAssist in the education of corporate colleagues on security related issues.
/liliAvailable to work a flexible schedule and to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
/li/ulh3Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:/h3ulliBachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years progressive experience with law enforcement, public or private security organization.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
/liliAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
/liliAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
/liliAbility to navigate windows based security software, such as CCTV, access control, visitor management log in/out and fire/life safety systems.
/liliAbility to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
/liliDrivers License, CPR/FA, AED training.
