Position Details:

Title: Manufacturing Laboratory Technician

Position Type:  1 year contract with additional opportunity contingent upon performance and continued business need

Job Location: Millsboro, DE

Shift: The department operates 7 days a week; with 2 days off rotating weekly. Potential for overtime, and potential for schedule change to either earlier or later hours depending on Production needs. Initial coverage from 6:00am-2:30pm. Schedule flexibility a must

Compensation: $20.50

 

Responsibilities:

The Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in supporting the production of veterinary products through the execution of essential laboratory procedures. This position involves the use of specialized equipment and requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Perform routine tasks such as equipment washing, wrapping, sterilization, and loading/unloading of autoclaves

Handle the decontamination of waste and ensure the safe movement of materials throughout the laboratory

Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including logbooks, charts, and relevant production records

Set up and operate laboratory equipment as required

Maintain clean and organized workspaces in accordance with established procedures

Promptly report any irregular or non-routine incidents to supervisory staff

Hazardous Materials Handling:

This role may involve handling chemicals such as Isopropyl Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, Phenolic Disinfectants, and Oxidizers. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols is mandatory.

Schedule:

The department operates 7 days a week, with rotating days off

Standard hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Must have schedule flexibility to accommodate potential overtime or shift changes based on production needs

Qualifications:

Degree in Sciences preferred/ High school or equivalent required. Some practical experience heavily preferred.
