General Description of the Position The Internship Coordinator will advocate for the growth, maintenance and improvement of the internship component of the newly established master's Program. The Program is under the direction of the Department of Psychology, and the coordinator reports directly to the Program Director. The coordinator will teach courses that are guiding students through their supervised hours, work on developing partnerships with potential placement sites, and act as a mediator between site supervisors and current students who are completing their supervised hours.

Essential Functions&Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Essential Functions Teach two courses that represent the beginning of the internship experience for students (PSYC 605 and PSYC 609, which is 4 graduate credit hours per semester as well as during both sessions of the summer). Assist students in finding internship placements.Develop and monitor relationships and contracts with clinical practicum/internship sites. Attend all department and leadership meetings. Serve as a liaison and provide information to administrative offices, faculty committees, ad hoc committees, accrediting organizations and other groups and departments.Respond to student inquiries, complaints, requests, etc. Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences. Keep abreast of developments in licensing requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Chair and/or the Dean.Primary Responsibilities

As an administrator, the internship coordinator has the primary responsibility for helping students locate internship and practicum placements and arrange partnerships that protect our students and represent the reputation of DSU. In consultation with the Program Director and the Chair, the Coordinator has the primary responsibility and authority to:

Support the Program Director in making efforts to keep the Master's Program operating at a high level of quality. Assist students in finding placement opportunities. Develop partnerships with those sites for future opportunities. Help the internship component of the program evolve and grow. Ensure that all paperwork for the internships are signed and submitted.Ensure that students have appropriate liability insurance as required by the agency. Qualification Standards

Must hold a terminal degree in Psychology and at least three years of leadership experience at an accredited higher educational institution. The Coordinator will have a 4-credit load of teaching courses, which is focused on the internship component of the program. The coordinator will teach these classes in Fall, Spring and both Summer sessions.Record of scholarship, teaching and professional service commensurate with the University's requirements for tenure in the rank of associate or full professor. Evidence of having a collaborative and transformative leadership style. Evidence of having successful supervisory experience in higher education.
