Primary Functions for a Human Resources Administrator:
Serve as human resources administrator and business partner for Brame Specialty Company Inc. Responsible for HR activities: staffing, employee relations, safety, training, benefits communication, performance management programs, and compliance with policy and legal requirements.
Work Schedule for a Human Resources Administrator:
This is a hybrid position, requiring a few days in the office and a few days working from home. Ability to commute when working on-site at the Durham, NC location is required.

Duties for a Human Resources Administrator:
- Work closely with managers and supervisors when job positions become vacant to hire the most qualified candidates and communicate regularly to management regarding the filling of open positions. Seek the most qualified applicants through networking and outreach functions.
- Ensure AAP and EEO guidelines are met for internal/external employment process:
- Post all job positions internally and/or on career opportunity website.
- Review applications and select candidates for interviews.
- Refer qualified candidates to department managers for interview scheduling; participate in interviews to ensure compliance with selection practices.
- Perform and ensure completion of backgrounds checks for candidates under hiring consideration (i.e. employment history, criminal history, MVR, etc.)
- Contact candidates to make contingent job offers; process pre-employment drug screens and DOT physicals, and schedule first day of employment.
- Complete all necessary forms during the employment process (i.e. requisition, application log, interview log, waiver/release, classification form, I-9, etc.); ensure E-verify process is completed.
- Prepare and conduct new employee orientations and ensure all appropriate company policies are reviewed during the orientation process.
- Employee data processing:
- Enter all new hire information into payroll and time & attendance software application(s).
- Ensure employee rates, deductions, and classifications are within company policies.
- Set up and maintain required US work authorization and E-Verify documentation system.
- Develop and monitor internal/external selection/hiring practices to ensure compliance with Federal regulations and company policies.
- Establish a partnership with reputable staffing firms to make certain critical employment situations are covered quickly and efficiently.
- Timely report all employee accidents/incidents to insurance TPA; coordinate occupational injury medical care for workers' compensation cases and follow up on settlement of claims.
- Ensure proper investigations are conducted by company management for all employee accidents/incidents; work with managers and supervisors on employee return to work programs.
- Perform random, reasonable cause, and post-accident drug screens as needed. Retain copies and files accordingly. Maintain chain of custody supplies.
- Assist in company health and safety training programs.
- Maintain and manage current job descriptions and specifications as needed.
- Prepare and submit OSHA logs, EEO-1, Vets-100 reports and other government census reports annually.
- Coordinate and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations; maintain driver qualification files; respond to verifications of employment and safety performance history record requests.
- Complete/review MVR and other business-related background screens annually.
- Orientation and training for managers and supervisors as needed.
- Provide training on substance abuse procedures to manager and supervisory personnel.
- Assist HR Manager with unemployment claim responses and unemployment filings.
- Maintain HRIS to ensure database accurately reflects all employee information.
- Assist and counsel employees with benefit and other questions; assist with open enrollment meetings as needed.
- File and maintain updates for all departmental reference manuals.
- Follow all written procedures and protocols for the HR Department; provide quality customer service at all times.
- Attend and participate in meetings and/or training as scheduled.
- Perform other duties and/or administrative support as assigned by HR Manager.
Qualifications for a Human Resources Administrator:
- Bachelor's degree in either business or HR related field
- HRIS system experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Ability to deal with all levels of employees and vendors in a professional manner
- Ability to openly communicate problems to supervisor/ ability to maintain confidentiality in financial and personnel-related matters
- Knowledge of AAP and EEO requirements, FLSA, ERISA and HIPPA regulations
- Possession of a valid NC driver license
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Ability to pass the company's background and Motor Vehicle Report and the company's drug testing requirements
- Experience with Paylocity (HRIS)
- PHR or SPHR certification or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
- Experience with Employee Navigator (Benefits)
