Position Summary The Per Diem Neuroradiologist provides high-quality diagnostic imaging interpretation and consultation. The role supports clinical services on an as-needed basis, including coverage for scheduled shifts, urgent needs, weekends, and holidays depending on departmental needs. The radiologist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care.
Primary Responsibilities
* Interpret neuroradiology imaging studies, including CT and MRI of the brain, head and neck, and spine, as well as carotid Doppler ultrasound. * Provide timely, clear, and clinically relevant reports and communication with referring providers. * Provide feedback to trainees involved in preliminary interpretations.* Participate in multidisciplinary discussions and care conferences as needed. * Provide tele-radiology coverage. * Communicate effectively with technologists, nursing staff, and referring teams to support efficient workflow and high-quality imaging. * Ensure adherence to institutional, departmental, and regulatory policies, including ALARA radiation safety principles.* Participate in peer learning and quality initiatives as appropriate for per diem status.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements MD or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Education&Training: -MD or DO degree. -Completion of Diagnostic Radiology residency. -Completion of Neuroradiology fellowship
Certification: -Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
Licensure -Unrestricted medical license (or eligibility) in the state of North Carolina. -Ability to obtain and maintain privileges at the affiliated hospital(s).
Skills&Experience: -Demonstrated expertise in interpreting Neuroradiology imaging across multiple modalities. -Experience with urgent/emergent Neuroradiology imaging preferred. -Strong communication skills with ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. -Commitment to patient and family-centered care.-Comfort working in both in-person and remote reading environments.
