Description
Grow Control Landscape is a small, but growing, landscape company offering landscape design, installation, and maintenance services.
We are searching for a responsible, self-starter to be a new crew member to our landscape installation crew. Crew member's responsibilities working alongside the crew on the installation of outdoor spaces and maintaining existing grounds, using machinery and equipment, ensuring all safety guidelines and protocols, and completing some simple administrative duties.
To be successful as an installation technician, you should be able to both follow and provide instructions. A top-notch crew member should constantly be expanding their horticulture knowledge, constantly expand installation knowledge, always strive for the best, be a keen problem-solver, and possess remarkable communication skills.
The technician will drive a company truck. Candidate must be able to work as a team to provide landscape services to both residential and commercial properties. Perform all work on schedule in a timely and safe manner. Take professionalism seriously and provide an excellent representation of the company.
This position will require installation, service and repair, and maintenance duties when needed.
Typical responsibilities:
Loading and Unloading of company vehicles
Maintaining company vehicles and equipment
Using machinery and equipment such as tillers, trenchers, sod cutters, chain saws, mowers, blowers, weed hackers, skidsteers, excvator, etc.
Trenching and digging
Installation irrigation systems such as controllers, sprinklers, backflows, pipes, valves, master valves, flow sensors, dripline, etc.
Installing lighting systems such as transformers, lighting wire, and light fixtures,
Hauling and dumping debris
Mulch and gravel installations
Planting
Header board installations
Some concrete work.
Create irrigation layouts and schedule programming
Irrigation repair and diagnostics
Basics of tree and shrub pruning
Fertilization
Gardening and maintenance duties when needed.
Mowing and edging lawns.
Pruning shrubs and trimming hedges.
Using leaf blowers and other power equipment.
Weeding and maintaining flower beds.
Applying mulch
Fertilization
Planting and seasonal colored flowers
Documentation of jobs
Time-tracking
Driving
Basic Equipment maintenance
Basic Vehicle maintenance
Schedule:
Full time 8 hours +
Monday through Friday.
6:30 am to 3:30 pm typical schedule.
Overtime may be needed.
Requirements
Valid CA Drivers License
Relevant certificates are recommended but not needed
Must know basic planting techniques.
Must know basic irrigation knowledge such as cutting and glueing pipe, installating sprinklers on swing pipe, mounting and programming controllers, installing dripline, wiring valves, etc.
Knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping.
On-the-job training as a landscape crew member.
Ability to comprehend clear written and verbal instructions.
