on w2 without benefits/ppDuration: 12 Months/pp1st Shift (Can start between 6:30am to 8:30am)/ph3Job Description/h3pResponsible for the execution of all plant activities related to freight, including production scheduling, dispatching trucks and negotiating freight rates with contract carriers.
/ph3Skills And Competencies/h3ulliKnowledge of state, local and federal DOT regulations/liliKnowledge of office procedures- Good verbal and written communication skills/liliStrong leadership skills are required/liliAbility to manage multiple priorities and be detail-oriented/liliGood customer service orientation/liliAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers and calculate percentages/liliGood computer skills; Microsoft Excel - preferred.
/li/ulh3Major Job Duties And Responsibilities/h3ulliCoordinates Scotts and Growing Media freight ensuring maximum efficiency as well as timely deliveries/liliNegotiates freight rates with contract carriers/liliMaintains and processes all necessary records and paperwork to ensure that private fleet, as well as contract carriers, are in compliance with state, federal and local regulations.
/liliConfirms and/or processes orders and bills of lading/liliAdvises customers on delivery scheduling and order problems/liliDevelops production schedules in conjunction with Production Supervisor/liliWorks with production personnel and other Growing Media Plants to coordinate shipments/liliResponds to inquiries from customers, truck drivers, corporate personnel, etc.
