This role leads a team of approximately
812 production and manufacturing engineers , ensuring processes are well-designed, production issues are resolved quickly, and manufacturing operations are supported with practical, scalable solutions. As a key partner to Operations, this role works closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure engineering support is aligned with day-to-day production needs while continuously improving performance across throughput, quality, and cost. Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership&Execution:
Lead, coach and oversee the production engineering team, setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable. Prioritize team workload based on production needs, business priorities, and operational impact Ensure timely resolution of technical and process-related issues on the production floorDevelop team capabilities in problem-solving, process design, and cross-functional collaboration 2. Manufacturing Process Ownership:
Own the
development, improvement, and standardization
of production processes Ensure processes are efficient, repeatable, and aligned with production throughput and quality requirements Maintain and improve process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and control plans Drive consistency in tooling, process methods, and manufacturing practices3. Production Support&Problem Solving:
Ensure the engineering team is effectively supporting production in resolving issues impacting output, scrap, or rework Drive structured root cause problem-solving and implementation of corrective actions Partner with Production leadership to reduce downtime, variability, and inefficiencies 4. Continuous Improvement:
Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, labor efficiency, and scrap reduction Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma tools, and practical problem-solving approaches Track and drive measurable improvements in key operational metrics 5. Cost&Efficiency Improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities to reduce production costs through process improvements and material optimization Improve labor utilization and cycle time performance across production processes Support Operations and Finance with data-driven improvement initiatives 6. Quality&Compliance Partnership:
Partner with Quality to ensure production processes meet internal standards and external requirements (ISO, UL, etc.) Ensure processes are consistent, controlled, and audit-ready Support investigation and resolution of quality issues through engineering solutions 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Operations leadership to align engineering priorities with production needs Coordinate with Supply Chain, Quality, and other engineering teams as needed Communicate risks, constraints, and progress clearly to leadership 8. Safety&Operational Discipline:
Ensure all process improvements, equipment, and engineering activities follow company safety standards Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and operational discipline within the team Qualifications:
Required:
6+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering 4+ years of leadership or team management experience Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and production systems Demonstrated ability to solve production issues and improve process performance Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentProficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) and data analysis Preferred:
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies Experience with UL891, switchgear, or electrical manufacturing environments Experience working closely with production teams in a hands-on capacity Familiarity with ERP systems and production reporting tools Core Competencies:

CompensationThe base pay range for this role is $145,000 $165,000 per year.
