Job Summary
:
The SolidWorks instructor will teach students the fundamentals of 3D modeling, including sketching, part creation, assemblies, and basic technical drawing. They guide beginners through hands-on exercises, helping them build confidence with CAD tools while developing problem-solving and design skills
As the ALIC Instructor you will: Lead classes as the subject matter expert Hold office hours to assist students with course content Develop course content as subject matter experts Experience and Qualifications
Required Education:
High school diploma or GED 4-7 years experience Required Knowledge
In depth knowledge of Solidworks Required Skills
Instructional skill in breaking down complex processes into understandable steps. Ability to troubleshoot student work and communicate issues is necessary. Plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple concurrent laboratory, instructional, and research support activities in alignment with priorities established by the faculty chairApply and implement regulatory requirements, institutional policies, and laboratory safety protocols to ensure compliance and adherence to institutional standards Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrative partners across departments to support ALIC and institutional goals. Required Abilities
Address technical, operational, and safety-related challenges in a plant environment by applying professional judgment and implementing effective solutions with limited day-to-day oversight Adaptability, maintenance of high standards in terms of file management, and ability to explain why certain processes are being utilized, not just how they are being utilized.Computer Skills
