- the student will use their personal strengths to lead orientation sessions and meet the goals of the program. Communication - the student will effectively exchange information, ideas, facts, and perspectives with new students and their family members. Professionalism

- the student will be representing the university and will need to demonstrate effective work habits and act in the interest of the larger community and workplace. Teamwork

- the student will work with other interns, transition guides, and professional staff and will have to build and maintain a relationship together to work towards a common goal and shared responsibilities. Critical Thinking

- the student will problem solve and/or respond to student and family needs based upon an understanding of situational context Equity and Inclusion

- the student will actively help make orientation and welcome week events be inclusive and accessible events while also understanding and demonstrating awareness of differences. Technology - the student will use a variety of platforms and technologies to complete tasks such as Outlook, VisitDays, Excel, Guidebook, etc.

The LDCE Student Intern serves as Gannon University's first point of contact with our first-year students as well as helps support engagement across the university. As a representative of Gannon University, LDCE Student Interns will be expected to enhance the student experience by promoting learning and development through engagement, fostering community among small groups, and encouraging a culture of dialogue and understanding.

Specifically, duties related to the LDCE Student Intern position include, but are not limited to: Being fully present, engaged, and committed to the August leadership training program. Serving as a peer mentor during the transition process by supporting our students holistically, communicating information and connecting them to university resources.Modeling a positive attitude and growth mindset when portraying Gannon University's programs, policies&procedures. Assisting with setup and administrative tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: In order to be considered as a candidate, you must:• Have completed and participated in a past August leadership training program • Be enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA • Be able to be self-sufficient in assigned tasks, as well as collaborate effectively in a new community of professional and peer staff• Be able to uphold and support the Gannon University Mission • Be eligible to work in the United States with no restrictions

Physical Demands

Must be able to meet the physical demands associated with the high-energy and robust pace of a highly active office during Orientation and Welcome Week.
