Description

Job Responsibilities:

Develops complex design documents and translates requirements into component-level designs to accelerate development.
Assists in application strategy, system design, and data-gathering approaches.
Provides high-level design expertise to enable flexible, reusable components and increase cost-effectiveness.
Analyzes, designs, and reviews applications and suites of applications to ensure business and customer specifications are met.
Coordinates efforts between application architects and development teams to ensure product development and implementation are aligned.
Partners with product development teams and senior designers to define accurate design requirements.
Recommends alternative technical solutions when appropriate to meet requirement needs.
Conducts technical research, evaluates tools, methodologies, and standards to ensure designs adhere to industry and organizational standards.
Develops and maintains technical documentation and participates in test-plan development, integration, and deployment.
Supports business process sessions, project meetings, and joint application development activities to communicate design decisions.
Acts as a domain expert and works closely with software developers to explain application design and coordinate activities to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Participates in cost and feasibility analysis of technical approaches.
Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced designers and developers.
Guides less experienced developers to create, maintain, and communicate application design details.
May provide technical consulting support on complex projects.
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering system capacity, limitations, operating time, and desired results.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
6+ years of application or product design experience.
Strong experience with software design and development methodologies.
Experience working with system design principles and enterprise applications.
Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware, and software.
Ability to work independently and guide junior team members.
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent professional experience.
