Northwest Aerospace Technologies (“NAT”), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.

In the role of Mechanical Design Engineer 1 you'll play a pivotal part on our Engineering team.

The Level 1 Mechanical Engineer has the following scope of work:
 The design function. This includes basic research, data acquisition, and engineering required to generate engineering product (parts list, drawings, documents, etc.)
 The design content. Ensure the design content conforms to the company quality system procedures as documented, the customer statement of work, along with applicable certification requirements
 Career growth. This includes working with Senior Technical Engineers and Project Engineers to grow in engineering experience
 Guidance required
 With guidance, the Level 1 Mechanical Engineer is expected to prepare engineering product using applicable computer tools and programs maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety in product designs.
 Ensure the NAT's drawings and documents meet the standards established by the NAT quality system, customer requirements, and applicable certification authority.

Job Requirements

Knowledge/Experience:
 The Level 1 Mechanical Engineer should have a 4-year engineering degree, preferably in a field that offers the opportunity to gain a well-rounded background (i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering) or industry experience that is equivalent to a four-year degree.
 An engineering degree or 2-5 years of broad technical experience as a drafter/designer in an aerospace related application, preferred.
 Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.

Skills/Abilities:
 Drawing management
 Troubleshooting/problem solving
 Ability to work within a team
 Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
 Understanding of customer's expectations
 Ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure
 Superior attention to detail

Working Conditions:
 Primarily office work
 Consistent use of computer key board and monitor
 Does require fluent communication in English
 Protracted or irregular hours may be required
 Must be comfortable working to meet firm deadlines, thus completing work on time

Physical Requirements:
 Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
