Paint Prep / Paint Trainee / Assistant– Full Time Location: Everett, WA Company: Davis Sign Company Since 1988, we’ve been a family-owned creative fabrication shop building high-end signage and displays for major clients. We’re looking for a full-time Paint Prep / Paint Trainee / Paint Assistant to join our small team of artists, makers, and fabricators.

About the Role

You’ll primarily support our paint department by preparing surfaces for paint, masking and sanding parts, and helping ensure finished pieces meet our quality standards. There will be an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the Mathews Paint System (MPC), an industry-standard coating system for professional sign finishing. Our paint department is outfitted with a new professional paint booth enclosure inside our 10,000 sq ft shop shared by fewer than 10 employees, providing plenty of space to work safely and comfortably. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in craftsmanship, and is interested in developing skills with an industrial paint systems, bodywork, coatings, and finishes for fabricated components. While the primary focus is paint prep and finishing, we value people who enjoy collaborating across departments and have interest in other areas of sign making.

Responsibilities●Prepare sign components for paint (cleaning, sanding, masking, surface prep) ●Assist with paint booth setup and finishing workflow ●Maintain a clean and organized work environment ●Move and stage parts between departments during production ●Assist with general shop tasks and maintenance such as sweeping overspray dust andreplacing paint booth filters

Cross-over experience with light fabrication is valued. Opportunities arise to assist with tasks such as drilling and tapping parts, cutting materials on a chop saw, or supporting fabrication work during production. Safety is important to us. Team members are expected to consistently use appropriate PPE and help maintain a culture where everyone looks out for each other.

What We’re Looking For ●Strong work ethic and attention to detail ●Pride in producing clean, high-quality work ●Interest in industrial paint systems, coatings, and finishing ●Experience with painting, sanding, finishing, carpentry, metalworking, or relatedhands-on trades (helpful but not required)●Comfort working with tools and shop equipment ●Positive attitude and ability to work well in a small team
