This is an excellent opportunity to build a long- term career with a stable and growing company that values its employees and promotes a positive work environment.Position Summary The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining company tractors, trailers, and related equipment. This position performs preventive maintenance inspections and repairs to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and compliant with all applicable company, state, and federal regulations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance Inspections Perform preventive maintenance inspections on tractors, trailers, and related equipment using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Utilize hydraulic jacks, hoists, welding equipment, air-powered tools, and other maintenance equipment as required.Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with company standards and state and federal safety regulations. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using technical manuals, diagnostic equipment, service information, and experience. Read work orders and evaluate equipment operation to determine malfunctions and establish repair procedures. Perform repairs and adjustments in engines, aftertreatment systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, steering, suspension, brakes, drivetrain, tires, wheels, frames, cab systems, trailer systems, refrigeration units, and related components.Equipment Service
Remove, repair, replace, and install major truck and trailer components as required. Change engine oil, filters, lubricants, and other fluids. Replace tires, brake components, batteries, and other wear items. Perform wheel alignments and other corrective maintenance procedures. Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs through operational testing and road tests when required.Compliance&Documentation
Complete work orders, inspection reports, timecards, and maintenance records accurately and timely. Utilize parts catalogs, maintenance software, and coding systems as required. Communicate repair needs, equipment status, and completed work with supervisors and operations personnel. Facility&Yard Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment. Assist with general facility and yard maintenance as needed. Additional Responsibilities
Drive company vehicles on company property and public roadways as required. Operate service vehicles to obtain parts and respond to roadside service calls. Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while representing DHT. Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and workplace standards.Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor or Director of Maintenance. Qualifications
Previous diesel truck and trailer maintenance experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, air systems, brakes, and related components. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and DOT inspection requirements.Valid drivers license required; CDL preferred. EPA Section 609 certification for air conditioning systems preferred. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and components commonly associated with truck maintenance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.Benefits
