Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Geddes Lab)(Internal Only), Fargo

The Geddes Laboratory in the Department of Plant Pathology, Microbiology, and Biotechnology at North Dakota State University is seeking a Post Doctoral Researcher to support research on barley-associated microbiomes.
The position will focus primarily on culturing, characterizing, and experimentally testing root-associated microbial communities and isolates from barley systems, while contributing to a broader research program investigating microbiome assembly and function across both root and phyllosphere environments.
Research activities will include microbial isolation and culturing, preparation of synthetic microbial communities, greenhouse and growth chamber experiments, microbiome phenotyping, molecular biology techniques, and assistance with sample processing for sequencing-based analyses.
The successful candidate will also contribute to experimental workflows evaluating plant-microbe interactions and microbial traits relevant to barley health and productivity.
