Job Title
Internal Applicants Only This position is open only to current employees of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Applicants must serve and pass their six-month probation period in their current position in order to be eligible to apply. Job Duties
Provide exceptional customer service to visitors and callers in the spirit of a public servant while relaying information in accordance with PAO policy. Direct calls to appropriate individuals/units within the office or refer the caller to external resources or partner agencies. Maintain high discretion, tact, and confidentiality when working on highly sensitive subject matter and/or material.Professionally interact with the public, law enforcement officers, defense attorneys, judges, court staff, and PAO colleagues. Utilize the PAO case management system, Prosecution by Karpel (PbK) to look up basic information and upload documents as requested. Enter Notice of Appearance and Withdrawals into PbK.Enter the daily Early Assignment list. Prepare Arraignment FTA folders for the Arraignment desk Generate and mail Arraignment letters from the daily filing log. Register cases for E-Service from the filing log. Maintain and update the Front Desk reception manual. Route information to proper contacts, including the chain of command.Help to train Front Desk coverage personnel. Electronically filed documents through the Superior Court Clerk's Office online portal. Assist the supervisor and records unit with additional PbK entries and other duties as assigned. Monitor, distribute, and scan received mail and faxes. Complete Daily Court RunOrder and maintain office supplies. Actively participate in PAO equity work, attending equity training and discussions. Receive CCAP, PALS, and EHD Notice of Violation; generate and prepare the Motion, Certificate, and order for Bench Warrant Support the Race, Equity, and Social Justice policy and principles, working with PAO colleagues and management to identify opportunities for improvement.Additional responsibilities and/or tasks may be incorporated, or existing ones modified as business needs evolve. Excellent communication skills, including communicating professionally and effectively with individuals and groups. Ability to exercise courtesy, sensitivity, and good judgment with individuals harmed by crime or in crisis. Skill in responding positively, maturely, empathetically, and helpfully to individuals with diverse backgrounds and concerns.Skill to work independently, follow through on given assignments, be part of a team, and interact appropriately. Developing organizational skills and accurately completing various tasks with frequent interruptions. Computer skills (WORD, Excel, PBK a plus) and office equipment (phone, fax, copier, scanner, etc.)Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule. Skill in answering a multi-line telephone system. Demonstrated predictable, reliable, and timely attendance. Ability to learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment; ability and willingness to accept supervision, coaching, and feedback.Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with co-workers, management, attorneys, court personnel, law enforcement, and the public. Engage race, equity, and social justice principles in regular job duties and decision-making. Ability to accept supervision, coaching, and feedback.Desired qualification, not required: This position may be eligible for the bilingual premium pay of $1 per hour for all hours worked. Desired languages include Spanish, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, Shanghai, Other), Dari, Russian, and/or Vietnamese.
