Full Stack Java Developer (Mid-Level)

Sunrise, FL (Hybrid-3 days from client location)

6+ months Contract

Client is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Java Developer with 5 6 years of professional experience to support development initiatives for the American Express Cards team. The ideal candidate will have strong backend expertise in Spring Boot (70%), with complementary frontend experience in React (30%). Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.

Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces with React.js.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Write clean, testable, and efficient code with attention to performance and scalability.

Contribute to code reviews, debugging, and optimizing existing code.

(Nice to have) Support reliability engineering practices including monitoring, logging, and CI/CD pipeline improvements.

Required Skills:

5 6 years of hands-on experience in full stack development.

Strong backend development with Java 8+, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.

Proficient with React.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.

Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.

Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

Exposure to SRE principles, monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

Experience working in fintech or high-scale environments.
