Overview:
Responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendors.

Responsibilities:
Source, qualify, and audit suppliers of consumables for the Mill

Monitor inventories and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure steady and healthy flows

Analyze markets to assess and manage risks and opportunities

Work with operations to address any quality and delivery issues with suppliers

Assist accounting in monthly inventory audits

Assist operating departments with tasks as assigned

Assist, monitor, and communicate with the OmniSource scrap team and the Butler Melt Shop with all scrap sourcing

Work with divisional Controller and GM with natural gas forward purchases

Purchase zinc for both Butler locations and assist with the zinc purchasing at sister companies

Work with Melt and Casting Departments with alloy purchases

Assist with pig iron purchasing

 

Qualifications:
Required

4-year college degree, preferably in Business Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or similar

5-8 years of relevant work experience

Relevant core competencies required: effective negotiator, organized, project management and multi-tasking, applying practical analytical and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management

Ability to work independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal skills

Exceptional and proven verbal and written communication skills, with all levels of management

Proficient in Excel
