Role Overview The Sheet Metal Superintendent manages field installation of airside mechanical systems on large commercial and industrial projects. This role leads crews, enforces SMACNA standards, and coordinates closely with plumbing and piping teams to deliver fully integrated mechanical systems.Responsibilities include overseeing jobsite safety, quality, scheduling, labor productivity, and cost control while maintaining a collaborative and professional work environment. Core Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and supervise foremen, journeymen, and apprentices Assign crews, forecast labor needs, and support career developmentManage sheet metal installation for HVAC and ventilation systems Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and coordinate with BIM/VDC teams Sequence deliveries, prefabrication, and on-site installation with other trades Maintain alignment with GC, project managers, and field leadership Enforce OSHA 30 standards and company safety policiesConduct toolbox talks, audits, and site inspections Ensure quality-compliant installations and resolve field issues Prepare daily reports, look-ahead schedules, productivity tracking, and as-builts Monitor labor, equipment, and cost vs. budget Participate in weekly coordination meetings and present progress updatesRequired Background Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship as sponsorship is not available for this position Background in commercial mechanical subcontracting required; GC-side, owner's rep, and facilities maintenance backgrounds do not qualify 5+ years of field experience in commercial mechanical sheet metal; supervisory experience preferredOSHA 30 certification required Strong knowledge of HVAC duct installation standards and commercial mechanical systems Experience leading crews on large commercial projects such as hospitals, data centers, or high-rises Valid driver's license with ability to pass background, drug, and MVR screeningsAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights Familiarity with SMACNA duct installation standards preferred Familiarity with construction software such as Procore or Bluebeam Master HVAC license or equivalent preferred Experience with BIM coordination and prefabrication processes preferred Bilingual English/Spanish a plusLean construction or productivity improvement experience preferred Compensation&Perks Competitive salary based on experience.
