Responsibilities
Perform a variety of massage techniques, including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and pain management strategies tailored to individual client needs.
Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ physical conditions and discuss their health history to determine appropriate treatment plans.
Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and occupational health principles to effectively communicate with clients and other healthcare professionals.
Provide education to clients regarding the benefits of massage therapy, self-care practices, and pain management techniques.
Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients before and after treatments.
Keep accurate records of client treatments, progress, and any relevant changes in their condition.
Uphold high standards of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with clients.
Experience
A valid massage therapy license or certification from an accredited institution is required.
Proven experience in various massage modalities, particularly deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy.
Knowledge of physiology and anatomy as it relates to massage therapy practices.
Familiarity with acute pain management techniques and physical examinations is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients effectively.
Previous experience working in a medical spa or similar environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
